To successfully organize the application for 2015 National Social Science Fund Projects and improve quality of projects report, a training session was held in Southwest Jiaotong University on December 27^th. Famous experts on history of the Communist Party of China, chief expert of National Social Science Fund Projects, evaluation expert of National Social Science Fund Projects were invited to the session and Prof. Tang Lianying-doctoral Supervisor from East China Normal University (ECNU) gave a lecture entitled “Development of Academic Research and the Experience & Skills of projects application. The session was presided over by Zhang Xueyong, Chief of Division for Development of Liberal Arts.      

Prof. Tang Lianying’s lecture includes three aspects: ‘scholar’s responsibility, interests and mission’, ‘comprehension and opportunity of academic research’, ‘problems to be noticed in projects application’. Combined with her personal and team’s experience in applying for National Social Science Fund Projects, Prof. Tang talked about how to choose the topic, how to write the application materials and how to improve in later period in detail. She particularly emphasized that EQ was very import in academic research and those endured the loneliness of doing research, the tediousness of materials collecting, the hardship of on-the-spot investigation and the perplexity of various problems will finally feel the gratification of success. She sincerely hoped all teachers carefully select the topic and fill in the application with confidence because the applying of National Social Science Fund Projects is not only the competition of capabilities but also competition of personal charm and psychological quality. Teachers actively asked questions they encountered in the application of National Social Science Fund Projects at session. The session is of great practicality and operability with rich content.
